LSU football has a chance to make a strong impression on the College Football Playoff selection committee on Saturday.
If the No. 14 Tigers knock off No. 5 Alabama, then they’ll move squarely inside CFP contention with three weeks left in the regular season.
Both LSU and Alabama had an open date last week. In Week 8, the Tigers routed Auburn on the road, while the Crimson Tide hung on for a 31-20 win over Texas A&M at home.
Their matchup on Saturday, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m. on ABC, will be the last time the two teams play until 2028. LSU-Alabama is no longer an annual matchup in the Southeastern Conference’s new nine-game scheduling format.
