BATON ROUGE — Saturday is the 91st matchup between the LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
To commemorate the matchup’s return to Death Valley, WBRZ’s John Pastorek looks back on decades of history between the two teams on the gridiron.
One of the rivalry’s most iconic and exciting games was in 2022. It had everything: overtime, a two-point miracle and an earthquake-level crowd.
The game went into overtime, where Alabama scored first. But then Jayden Daniels raced into the endzone. The Tigers then lined up for what everyone thought was an extra point kick to continue overtime.
But then the ball was snapped and made its way into the end zone, unleashing thousands of fans onto the field to celebrate the 32-31 victory.
This weekend, LSU plays Bama in Death Valley at 2:30 p.m. WBRZ will broadcast the game.
