BATON ROUGE — After multiple away games, the Jags are back on The Bluff this weekend for a game against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats.
Southern University has a 4-5 record after last week’s win over Florida A&M.
Following practice on Tuesday, head coach Marshall Faulk called the last three weeks of away games a tough stretch.
Faulk said that, going into Saturday’s game and fresh off its first win in multiple weeks, the team is becoming “more and more bought into the process,” which Faulk said “leads to success.”
Coach Faulk, a former NFL running back, added that he is happy to have the problem of deciding “which guy to run,” saying the Jags’ offense, which only threw nine passes during its most recent win, has a solid set of running backs.
He said, despite the win, he doesn’t want the team to dwell on it too much.
“As good as this game felt to win, we have a game coming up on Saturday and we have to show people again who we are, how we play and what our identity is,” Faulk said.
He added that the only way the Jags are going to replicate the dominant 42-14 win over Florida A&M “is to try to get better.”
The Jags-Wildcats game kicks off at 2 p.m. Saturday.
